Our relationship property law does not apply to all relationships
How to split property in relationships involving three people (throuples, or polyamorous relationships) have recently been looked at by the High Court. The court found that the current law cannot help split property in these situations, but that doesn’t mean throuples are out of options. We encourage all people in relationships to find out what their property situation would be in the event of separation or death, and if the current law doesn’t work for you, we can prepare a Property Agreement. That means that YOU decide how property will be divided. Don’t leave your financial future to chance, contact us and find out where you stand with your relationship property. We recognise that your relationships are important so this is not a “You versus Them” situation but a more collaborative process to simply record what everyone thinks is fair . All parties will need separate legal advice in order for the agreement to be binding.
